How to have sex in the first, second and third trimester of pregnancy?
It is safe to have sex during all the trimesters during your pregnancy. Though the experience might feel different, it can still be equally enjoyable if you take the correct precautions.
Sex during the first trimester of pregnancy While it is quite safe to have sex during pregnancy, it is advisable to not have sex in the first 2-3 weeks. Compared to the second and third trimester, it is more comfortable to have sex during the first trimester as your stomach would not have grown much. Just do not put too much pressure on the stomach while having sex.
Sex during the second trimester of pregnancy In the 2nd trimester, the woman’s body has gone through a lot of physical and hormonal changes. Because of the hormonal changes, the woman may sometimes feel more interested in having sex, or sometimes may not have the interest at all. If your body is fit and the doctor has not advised you against sex, it is very safe to have sex during pregnancy. During this time as well, do not put too much pressure on the stomach while having sex.
Sex during the third trimester of pregnancy In the 3rd trimester, many women are concerned that sex during pregnancy will cause premature delivery. Medical experts say that the chances of this happening is very low and there is nothing to worry about. As always, do not put too much pressure on the stomach while having sex. There are a few sex positions which are safe for both the woman and your baby such as lying towards one side or with the woman on top.
For any doubts or queries, consult your doctor. He/she will be able to advise you better, based on your health and stage of pregnancy.
